Want Whiter Teeth?
Charcoal for Oral Health
When I first came to California with the dream of starting Years Restored I didn't have much in the way of money, insurance, or access to good dental care. As a result, I was left vulnerable to gum infections, cavities, and all manor of dental issues. I did, however, find a fantastic solution to this problem.
After I would floss and brush my teeth I would paint activated charcoal onto my teeth and leave it over night. I've been doing this since 2011 and since then I never have bleeding gums, cavities, or any dental issues whatsoever. Activated charcoal was hyper effective at maintaining the quality of my dental health and even helped keep my teeth pearly white. Let's take a look at how this works.
Say Goodbye to Gingivitis
Charcoal is among the best natural ways to fight gum disease such as gingivitis. Our gums can become infected with bacteria for a variety of reasons. It could be a hormonal issue, it could be from plaque build-up, it could be from tobacco use, or it could be from nutritional deficiencies. Many things can cause a bacterial infection of the gums, but when it does happen, charcoal can stop it dead in its tracks.
Applying charcoal to your teeth and leaving it over-night will cause the bacteria to be pulled out of your gums and bind to the surface area of the charcoal. Rinse it out the next morning and brush and floss as normal. If you do this every night, it's highly effective at combating gum disease.
Natural Teeth Whitening
It even whitens teeth, too. I'm sure you've seen tube upon tube of charcoal toothpaste at your local supermarket, health food store, Amazon, you name it. Charcoal toothpaste is everywhere, and it's everywhere for a reason. Charcoal is genuinely effective at whitening teeth, but by using it as a toothpaste you might be misunderstanding the way in which it actually whitens the teeth.
Charcoal whitens teeth primarily by chemically bonding to the particulates in your teeth that cause them to turn yellow, it's not the actual abrasive scrubbing action from brushing. With this in mind, charcoal toothpaste for teeth whitening isn't the best way to whiten your teeth with charcoal, instead it's more effective to apply activated charcoal powder to your teeth after brushing and leave it over night. The charcoal will absorb the yellow particles in your teeth and natural work to make them whiter. The results won't be over-night, but if you continue this habit then, over-time, your teeth will become significantly whiter.
It really works.
